Verified Pet Food Data is, and is intended to remain, a free resource. To cover the cost of building and maintaining it, we plan to earn commissions from retailers — including Amazon and Chewy — and potentially from pet-food brands, when readers click through from this site and make a qualifying purchase. This is standard "affiliate marketing" and is disclosed here in compliance with FTC guidelines.
What this means in practice, once affiliate links go live
- Some links to products may earn us a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you.
- Commission relationships will never determine which foods appear in the cost database, how they're sorted, or what numbers are shown. Ranking is strictly cost per 1,000 kcal, computed the same way for every SKU regardless of whether we have a commercial relationship with the brand or retailer.
- No brand or retailer can pay for a better ranking, a featured placement, or removal of unfavorable data (including recall records).
- We will clearly mark commercial links as such once they exist.
Where we stand today
The cost database currently shows plain-text prices with no outbound retailer links — we haven't set up affiliate tagging yet. When that changes, this page will be updated to reflect it, and the "last updated" date above will move.
